Moving Forward When Life Gets Noisy

Moving Forward When Life Gets Noisy

The Best Way Out Is Through

Robert Frost's line keeps coming back to me this week: the best way out is always through.

A friend was in town for Unreal Fest, someone who's navigated real adversity in the games industry, and watching him keep building, keep focusing on what's in front of him, made that idea feel less like a quote and more like a practice.

The question I keep sitting with is a practical one.

How do you make progress when things get thrown in front of you?

How do you figure out what you actually have agency over and put your energy there instead of getting swallowed by everything you can't control?

Resilience isn't just about absorbing hits. It's about continuing to move, one step at a time, through the noise and the chaos at home and at work.

I don't have a tidy list of tips this week. What I have is a word: forward.

Sometimes naming the thing you're working toward is enough to start moving toward it.
