Music to My Ears

New Lantlôs incoming! Be still my music beating heart. I am ready for this one and revisiting the back catalog as I type.

Nowhere In Between Forever, by Lantlôs
11 track album

While on the search for more music finds I stumbled across Loud via a Reddit post. It's a cool resource that pulls new music releases from multiple platforms. Good idea, even if some of the search and functionality is a bit limited. For example, I added in "jazz" as a genre filter and it's only pulling in a few releases per week. I’m sure there are way more than what it found, but still an interesting resource to add to the discovery arsenal.

And one track that has been on repeat lately is NY State of Mind Pt. 3 on the latest Nas & DJ Premier album Light-Years.

Gear & Tools

If you need something to listen to those tracks on the go while being aware of your surroundings, Shockz just announced their Openfit Pro. I have both versions 1 and 2 and absolutely love them. Incredibly comfortable, so much so that I often forget I'm wearing them while they're on. Having physical buttons makes it simple to pause quickly without having finicky touch controls. The sound is surprisingly solid. No, you’re not going to ditch your high-end headphones, but these are no slouch at all. Of course being able to hear my surroundings as needed while continuing listening is great. Apparently the ANC for this new version is pretty fantastic given they are an open. Likely picking up a pair when they hit Amazon so I can use some of those holiday GCs!

On the software side, I've been using Spokenly for speech to text. I've tried quite a few including Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Typeless. Spokely so far is fantastic as it supports local only offline models both on my Macbook and iPhone. Also the local Parakeet model is super fast and accurate and I've been enjoying it on all my devices. Last thing though is that I'd love a PC options, which Superwhisper does support. Oh decisions, decisions!

One for the Arcade

Finally, WHAT THE CLASH? looks so fun! I really wish I had an Apple Arcade subscription just for this.
